I have a 75 corvette, I have a problem with gas getting in the oil pan. The car sat for 10 to 15 years before I bought it.  I have changed the fuel pump and it is still happening. No one I've asked can come up with a reason other than the fuel pump.

Hea Steve ;
         You know it is possable that that fuel pump could also be bad, if you still have trouble after the following , you can allways try a elect. fuel pump and that would take the pump out of the prob. but is the carbarator leaking into the engine ? and have you pulled each plug to see if thay are wet or fouled up as if fuel is going into the cylds. the plugs should be wet and or shiny or something out of the normal. I would first check the carb.and plugs as you having fuel in the oil is real dangerous !!! if the plugs are wet it is not the fuel pump. does this engine run now ? get back after you check the plugs ok.does this engine start right up ? or do you have to pump it a lot to get it going , as if you have a big holley or a quadrajet on it you could be pumping gas into the  cylds. and down threw the cyld walls into the  oil  when starting it or trying to start it ok let me know OK.

Hi Roger
I replaced the float assembly on the carb and the upper gasket on the carb which is a quadrajet. I was able to get it started once but shut it off after a minute because I didn't want to get too much gas in the oil pan. I haven't been able to get it started after that. I took the carb off the engine and took it apart again the float seems to be working ok the float bowl wasn't over filled but the intake manifold had a lot of gas still in it.I checked the plugs and they were wet. I'm assuming it is the problem with the carb, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

HEA STEVE
         OK you checked the carb. quadrajets are great but you can have trouble with them , are you shure that the back metering rods are not sticking open, as the gas will just pour into the motor. did you check the rear jets out also. -can you borrow a carb. from a friend or something to try it, this way you can ruel out everything else , I had trouble with the quadrajet that was on my 69 chevy ss/396 and I ended up putting on it a 850 holley DP. so it could be the carb. when you set the float level re-check it a few times prior to putting it back on. ok
