Question
I just wanted to know if there is any way to at disc brake into a 1962 chevy impala.  Can a spindle from a 78 impala work.  I found a site that sells brackets to at rotors and calipers from a 72 chevelle.  Do i need to machine the spindles.  And in  what years and cars did  7" brake booster come in.  I'm haveing a hard time finding the booster.  And the kit is to expensive.

OK there is no reason you can not put in disc brakes in that car . I do not know if the spindle will work but they were kind of all the same so if it does bolt up and into the ball joints it should work , but you will have to have a real good front end alignment done when finished with it.
and as far as those ball joints if they are not that good replace them NOW. So you can get joints for a 72 chevell as long as the bolt / rivet holes align up all should work .
I think in 1969 the  7" booster came out ? but make shure your master cyld works. with the booster you will now have power assist brakes , and with out the booster you would have reg disc brakes , so is the booster is a trouble in any way try it with out it at first , as that is what I would do, as it does not do that much to the car. but that is all up to you.As you will have to put a 1/2 in. line into the booster with vacume , can you afford to loose all that vacume , if you have a 6 cyld, I would not use a booster and keep it std. disk brakes. I would try it first w/o the booster. you can allways put it on after right .
good luck to you. let me know how you do OK
