Classic/Antique Car Repair: 1968 firebird, 68 firebird, fire birds

Hi Dick,My Hubby just drug home a new project for me its a 68 Firebird.I know nothing about Fire birds,I have redone two cudas as i am a big fan of plymouth.I sold them to buy our new house.It has a great big shop for me.I went to school for Auto body and paint.I am just now trying to learn the rest.Im trying to identify.
what moter is in the car.My husund said the guy that sold it to him said it was a factory rebilt 400.But my chilton book does not mach that info.
on the Moter wher the head meets the moter on the right side i found the numbers 032425
yj.In chilton book the only yj is a V8 350.if this is so what does the 032425 mean.or am i looking at the rong numbers.Any help for me would be great.Thank you in advance for all you do.Diana

You're looking in the right place, and YJ is a 350, not a 400.  I don't know what the numbers mean, probably a date code but I don't know how to decode it.

The 350 is a good engine, so don't feel bad about it.  The guy who said it was a 400 was probably conned by the person he bought it from.   If it runs good, drive it!

You buy houses the same way I do!   A big shop is essential.
