Classic/Antique Car Repair: transmission, gasket material, rubber gasket

Question
Roger, I followed your advice and cleaned and siliconed and reinstalled the tranny PAN for my 74 350. I ended up using the 3M black silicon gasket material. I'll let it set for a day becuase it's cold here in MN (40 deg F). Is it possible that the fluid is being forced out the PAN? When I removed the old rubber gasket, it was totally wet from the inside to the outside. I thought the trans runs off the intake manifold under neg pressure. Is that right? Without a hose diagram, I hooked up the trans line to a rear fitting on the intake manifold.

Answer
OK as far as I know as the auto tranny only has the two lines that go to the cooler for the fluid and a kick down I do not know about any line going into the tranny , that can be why you might be leaking, I would go to a library and look in a tech. book. as  it dosn't seam right to me , ok
