Classic/Antique Car Repair: Body or Mechanical?, mechanical work, dual exhaust

Question
Hi!
I have an opportunity to purchase a 1971 Sylark Custom convertible. Mechanically, the car is sweet! Everything has been rebuilt or put in new (like brakes & lines, dual exhaust, engine, transmission).

the body is rough, however.

My question:
Is it better to buy a car that is mechanically fit and needs lots of body work, or to buy a perfect body that needs lots of mechanical work?

thanks!

Answer
well that is all up to you ,
if you are good at body work than do the body work but if yoy are good at mech work do the mech work, as it is up to you if the car is sound body wise and runs well and all is good i would go for it as body work is not that hard . just use your own opinion and do what you think is right. ok as you can replace body parts easy so i would go for it if the car os sound.
