Classic/Antique Car Repair: before starting engine, old freind, grage

They gave me a 1956 t-brid in great shape.  The old freind of mind said that she havent start the car in two years, it was working with no problem she just stop using it becouse her husben got sick.  the car is inside the grage. What steps should I take before starting the engine.

Two years is not very long, probably all you have to do is get a fresh battery, put some fresh gas down the carburetor, and crank it up. If it doesn't start, replace the ignition points and condensor.  Then it should run.

You'll have to test the brakes before you move it - step on the pedal - if the pedal goes to the floor, you'll need to have it towed to a brake shop for repair before you try to drive the car.  Check all the fluids, and you should be ready to drive away with it.
