Classic/Antique Car Repair: TUBING, stainless tubing, auto stores

Question
Hi'
  I HAVE A OFF-BEAT QUESTION REGARDING STAINLESS FUEL AND BRAKE TUBING.I WOULD LOVE TO SPLICE STAINLESS TUBING INTO MY EXISTING STEEL TUBING WHICH IS STILL SOLID.WHAT I WANT TO DO IS SECTION OUT THE RUSTY STEEL TUBING AND REPLACE IT WITH THE STAINLESS SECTIONS.CAN I HEAT UP THE STAINLESS TUBING PRIOR TO BENDING IT? IS IT POSSIBLE TO EVEN UNITE STEEL WITH STAINLESS WITH THESE COUPLERS THAT ARE SOLD IN AUTO STORES?
         THANKS TOM.

Answer
  ok;
     I would not put any heat to that s/s tubing as it will weaken it  and what ever else it can do to it. As far as the s/s you should not have trouble as now a days there are all types of fittings and flare tools, so you should not have any trouble with fittings, unions,etc..
