Classic/Antique Car Repair: Gas tank sending unit, gas tank sending unit, unit thanks

Question
I have a 1961 Corvette and when the gauge reads 1/4 full the tank is actually empty. I have tested the battery and it reads 12 volts after it sits and 13 after I run it for a while. i beleive that the sending unit is original. Is there any other tests or anything else to look at other than replacing the sending unit? Thanks,

Maybe the gauge is not working good, i think that you have to check the flotation device that is in the fuel tank and verify the correct calibration of this device (there is some car reparators that can get out the tank and check the device.

my recomendation is to ask an expert to check the flotation device and the gauge, maybe is only a calibration problem.
