Dodge Repair: 1998 DODGE DAKOTA: code 11

Question
TRUCK HAS 98,000 MILES ON IT. IT BEGAN RUNNING ROUGH AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK IT TO MECHANIC AND DETERMINED IT WAS THE CRANK SHAFT SENSOR. HE REPLACED IT AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE FOR ABOUT A HUNDRED MILES. NOW IT HAS DID THE EXACT SAME THING AGAIN. CODE SAYS CRANK SHAFT SENSOR AGAIN. COULD IT BE A BAD SENSOR AGAIN,WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS.

Answer
If he erased the prior code (by briefly disconnecting the battery) so it is new, then I would have to believe it is the sensor. Perhaps it was not installed properly. What is the size of the engine (L) and I can see if there is a detail he may have overlooked. So I would go back, after you erase the code, then drive it a bit and see if the code has indeed returned.
