Dodge Repair: Catalyzer on 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 5.7 Hemi

Hi, I have a 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 with the 5.7 Hemi.
My question is the following:
I live in Bolivia and the gas here is very low in Octane percentage. The best you can get has 87% Octane. Also I live on 3600 meters above sea level and this takes away about 40% of the power of the engine. Due to the problem with the gas I am having some problems with the Catalyzer and it gets clogged up with dirt from the low rated gas. Is it possible to take out the catalyzer on this model without having future problems of an engine check due to the emissions that are not being controlled?
If this was possible my truck could run a little better and have more power.

If the government requires an inspection of your vehicle periodically, and you have removed the catalytic converter (catalyzer) then it is likely that you will fail the test and be required to replace it. I am not knowledgeable about clogging up of the catalyzer due to high altitude or low octane of the fuel.
I believe the engine computer will retard the spark timing automatically when it detects pre-ignition pinging of it. The engine computer will also notice that the exhaust gas is out of specification if you remove the catalyzer and put a "fault code" in its memory. I would want more advice before removing the catalyzer as to the net benefit from doing that, and the downside risks. Local mechanics in your high altitude region would be the most likely source of good advice.
