Dodge Repair: 05 minivan: center instrument cluster failure, water drainage, hours of sun

Question
I have a 2005 caravan (3.3L) that has a complete console failure (radio, a/c/fan control, wipers) when ever it rains (the water drainage?).
This first started with the radio going off and on, then each year is getting more frequent. After a few hours of sun it seems to dry and begins to work again. Is there some way to fix this problem myself? I know if i take it to a dealer they will not be able to find the problem without costing a lot.
When this happens the interior and exterior lights are OK.
I thought I read somewhere that corrosion around the Computer may cause this, if so, is the computer easy to access?
Please help

Answer
Hi Kevin,
When multiple systems fail simultaneously, and when those systems are electrically unrelated as far as the current supply fuses, then the most likely reason is that the pathway from all the devices that goes back to the battery, if in common, is what is likely to be the source of the problem. You mentioned radio, ac/fan control, and wipers) which indeed do share a common ground wire point that is located on the left kick panel (the panel under the dash to the left of the driver's leg). On that panel, near the parking brake pedal, you should find a number of black wires that are in common bolted to the panel. I suspect those wires are either loose or corroded due to rain water dripping on them from the corner of the windshield located above them. So find that bolt, remove the wires and clean all their metal 'rings', and then hook it up again to see if that solves the problem.
