Dodge Repair: 2009 Dodge Avenger Blower Motor Resistor, blower motor resistor, negative battery cable

Question
Hello,

I have a 2009 Dodge Avenger with what I believe to be is a V6 engine but I am not actually sure on the engine size. My ac switch only works on level 1 and 2. I took the vehicle to get A/C check out and was told that the Blower Motor Resistor needed replacement. They wanted to charge me over $200 to install the part.

I have since bought the part and would like to replace it myself. I have taken apart the lower level of the dashboard. I can't seem to figure out how to take the front part of dash off(the part that actually has the knobs attached to it)...The lower level is out and the front part is one piece that is attached to the upper level dashboard.

Any help on this matter would be appreciated as from what I see its a simple pull out and put in.

Please help!!! I am hot in this summer heat..

Thanks,

WARNING: The blower motor resistor may get very hot during normal operation. If the blower motor was turned on prior to servicing the blower motor resistor, wait five minutes to allow the blower motor resistors to cool before performing diagnosis or service. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious injury.

CAUTION: Do not operate the blower motor with the blower motor resistor removed from the circuit. Failure to follow these instructions may result in vehicle damage.
