Dealer wants to either replace water pump or radiator. Nothing is leaking and no water /oil mixing.Car is out of 3/36 warranty due to @70,000 miles.Used engine was put in by AAA at Chrysler dealership about 14 months ago.Things were fine till10 days ago.

ANSWER: Hi Matt,
That is a puzzle alright. Any chance that you have wheel brake dragging? After driving driving long enough to have it start to overheat, going at a steady speed and without needing to use the brakes, then pull over and coast to a stop. Then feel the metal of all four wheels to see if they are all cool. I'll check the '06 manual (the latest I have) to see if there are other possibilities. Which engine (L) do you have?
Please 'rate' my answer (see below).
Thanks,
Roland

QUESTION: 3.7 L     NOT 2.7 L

Answer
Hi Matt,
Other than checking for dragging brakes, I would try flushing the radiator.
Do the fans come on when the gauge moves up to 3/4 scale? Does it ever boil over, and if not might the temp gauge be inaccurate?
Are you using 50/50 mixture?
Have you bled air out of the cooling system? Might this be related to having dhanged out the radiator fluid 10 days ago?
I don't have any specific info about the 3.7L engine for lack of shop manual.
