Dodge Repair: 2001 Dodge Intrepid R/T 3.5L EGR, gasket surfaces, negative battery cable

Question
Check Engine light is on. Scan tool lists P0401 & P0404 codes. Most sources suggest cleaning/replacing any clogged/defective EGR tubes and/or replacing the EGR valve assembly.

It seems like it'll be a difficult task due to the position of the EGR valve. What is the proper procedure for replacing the EGR valve? Would removing the intake plenum make the job any easier? If so, what is the proper procedure for removing the plenum?

Thanks

Answer
REMOVAL - 3.5L
Disconnect negative battery cable.
Remove air inlet tube and resonator.
Disconnect electrical connector from EGR valve.
Remove EGR tube mounting screws at EGR valve (EGR tube and Valve - 3.2/3.5L).
The EGR valve attaches to the rear of the right cylinder head.

Remove EGR valve mounting screws.
Clean gasket surfaces. Discard old gasket. If necessary, clean EGR passages.
