Dodge Repair: 2000 dodge dakota will not start, crankshaft position sensor, target windows


Question
I have a 2000 dodge dakota with a 4.7 automatic trans. The truck will not start in the mornings when it is cold and dewy. when i come home from work when it dry it will start right away. it gave me a 1389 code and i tried a new asd relay. neither the asd relay or fuel pump relay have power to them.

Answer
Symptom:
P1398-MIS-FIRE ADAPTIVE NUMERATOR AT LIMIT
When Monitored and Set Condition:
P1398-MIS-FIRE ADAPTIVE NUMERATOR AT LIMIT
When Monitored: Under closed throttle decel with A/C off, ECT above 75, and more than
50 seconds after engine start.
Set Condition: One of the CKP sensor target windows has more than 2.86% variance from
the reference window.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
DAMAGED TONE WHEEL/FLEX PLATE (CRANKSHAFT)
CKP SENSOR CONNECTOR/WIRING
CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR
IMPROPERLY INSTALLED/LOOSE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR
