Dodge Repair: car problem, dodge caravan, dodge dealership

hi my name is john and i need help i have a dodge caravan 2003 engine 3.3. i when to the mechanic because i engine light was blinking.he told me that it was my #4 fuel injector i ask him how much he told me $170.00 for labor and injector 80.00= $250.00.i told him it was to much but had no choice to get it fix 3hours later he told me no its not the injector its the ecm.. i told him how much is that he said he dont do that job.he told me to go to the junk yard and get the same part number and i will be ok.i went got the same part number and 200.00 dollars later he put the ecm in the car it dont start he recommened i get the new ecm reprogramed which cost me a 125,00 .the car worked for 6hours then the engine light come on again and it smells gassy can you please help me and let me know what you think the problem is because this is stressing my life out.thank you so much for your time

There is no way for me to be able to guess what might be wrong with your van. The engine control system is a very complex system that has many inputs and outputs that enable the engine to run. You should find another repair shop, preferably a Dodge dealership, that can correctly diagnose and repair your van.
