Dodge Repair: starting, converter control, torque converter

Question
I start my 2000 dodge intrepid and when I place it into drive it jumps and then cuts off. I tried several times and the same thing happens.

Answer
I suspect there is a problem in the transmission torque converter control circuit causing the torque converter to stay engaged. You can try to get fault codes from the PCM by turning the key on-off-on-off-on and leave on then watch the odometer display. Any fault codes will be displayed there. The format is P followed by 4 numbers, example P1234. Let me know what codes, if any, are displayed.
