Dodge Repair: Dodge Ram A/C not blowing out cold in cabin, dodge ram 1500, reputable repair facility

Question
I have a 99 dodge ram 1500, V8, 5.2L, 2-wheel drive pickup truck 124,500 miles. All settings work, fan control works, compressor works, has freon. Under glovebox, I guess it's called the door blend actuator, it has been disconnected for A/C, but when I want heat, I have to plug it back in. Now even with it being unplugged for A/C, it blows out hot in the vehicle cabin. what could be the problem & how can I get it fixed?

Thank you
Yolanda

Answer
The blend air door is broken inside the heater-A/C unit. Once this part has broken there is no reliable way to bypass or jury rig it. The only way to fix it is to remove unit and replace the broken parts. This is not something the average person can do as it entails removing the entire instrument panel and steering column. I'd advise you to bring the truck to a reputable repair facility to get the blend door fixed.
