Dodge Repair: 03 Dodge Durango 5.9 Camshaft, camshaft position sensor, engine wiring harness

Question
I am trying to locate a diagram/location of the cam position sensor on a 03 Durango 5.9/V8.  I am getting the p0340 code "cam sensor defective". I want to just replace the sensor and see if that fixes the problem. Is that suggested, or could it be completely different? Symptoms: Trouble starting after engine turned off for a minute or more, Starts then will shut off (happened once). This might be odd/unrelated, but I didn't notice the engine light till I tried to use the Cruise and it wouldn't work. The light cut on. After a few bouts of not starting my Cruise will engage again. Are these completely unrelated? Sorry to jump all over the place. Thanks for any advice you might have.

Answer
The camshaft position sensor is located in the distributor on all 5.2/5.9L V-8 engines (Camshaft Position Sensor).

Distributor removal is not necessary to remove camshaft position sensor.

Remove air cleaner assembly.
Disconnect negative cable from battery.
Remove distributor cap from distributor (two screws).
Disconnect camshaft position sensor wiring harness from main engine wiring harness.
Remove distributor rotor from distributor shaft.
Lift the camshaft position sensor assembly from the distributor housing (Camshaft Position Sensor).
