Dodge Repair: 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 cracks, dodge ram 1500, cracked dashboard

Question
I have a cracked dashboard and instrument cluster bezel - I can buy the Bezel for $100 and a dash cover for $125 - Is this the best idea (rather than a $1000 dealer replacement) and is the bezel removal just a matter of gently prying it off?

Answer
REMOVAL
WARNING: ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AIRBAGS, DISABLE THE AIRBAG SYSTEM BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY STEERING WHEEL, STEERING COLUMN, SEAT BELT TENSIONER, OR INSTRUMENT PANEL COMPONENT DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. DISCONNECT AND ISOLATE THE BATTERY NEGATIVE (GROUND) CABLE, THEN WAIT TWO MINUTES FOR THE AIRBAG SYSTEM CAPACITOR TO DISCHARGE BEFORE PERFORMING FURTHER DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. THIS IS THE ONLY SURE WAY TO DISABLE THE AIRBAG SYSTEM. FAILURE TO TAKE THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENTAL AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY.

Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
If the vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission, turn the ignition switch to the Off position (not Lock), set the parking brake, and place the automatic transmission gear selector lever in the Low position.
If the vehicle is so equipped, set the tilt steering column in its lowest position.
Using a trim stick or another suitable wide flat-bladed tool, gently pry around the perimeter of the cluster bezel to disengage the snap clips from their receptacles in the instrument panel (Cluster Bezel Remove/Install).
Remove the cluster bezel from the instrument panel.
