Dodge Repair: I need some heat 1999 Dodge Intrepid, 1999 dodge intrepid, dodge intrepid

Question
I have a 1999 dodge intrepid. When I turn the heat on I am getting freezing cold air. I have checked the heater core lines under the hood that lead into the firewall. They are hott. I have even went as far as taking the bottom of the dash off enough to get my hand to the heater core housing and it was hott as well. I have checked to see if there are any leaks on the heater core and have not found any leaks. I am lost. Is there some kind of compartment under the dash that controls the flow of the air, some door that opens to let the hott air flow instead of cold air that isnt opening if so where is it? If you think it may still be the heater core, How do I get that thing out of there? Also, I seen where a expert told someone to backflush it. Can i just pull the lines off at the firewall and switch them and let it run and backflush it that way?

Kindest Regards,
Michael

Answer
if the core and the lines are hot there is nothing wrong with the flow of coolant.
U more then likely have a blend door motor issue.
I have a 99 concord and some times have the same issue.
Move the temp knob all the way to cold then back to hot if it works after that then u have a motor that is getting stuck either by itself or by a door getting stuck inside the box.
