Dodge Repair: Electrical door problems, remote keyless entry, dodge neon

QUESTION: kevin, The battery in my 2001 dodge neon recently died. So I had to get jumped. Once I got the car to sears to getTHE new battery they checked everything and replaced the battery but now my keyless entry does not work so I have to unlock with a key. Also when i go to lock the doors from inside they do not work also but everything else is fine like the windows and all. What could be the issue and how can i fix it?

ANSWER: might have toasted the RKE module when u jumped it.I live in Atlanta and I could look at it for u.

QUESTION: Thanks for the help. I am actually in new jersey so Atlanta is out of the question. Is this something that is easy to fix? Could I fix that on my own or what does it take to fix? Also what exactly is the RKE module?

ANSWER: RKE  is remote keyless entry module  under the top part of the dash  i think.

QUESTION: Great. how would i find it in the car? Do i go under the steering wheel to find it & what would it look like? How would i be able to test it to see if thats it? I would like to fix it. You are a great help thank you very much..

REMOVAL
Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
Remove the instrument panel top cover. (Refer to 23 - BODY/INSTRUMENT PANEL/INSTRUMENT PANEL TOP COVER - REMOVAL).
Remove the two screws holding the RKE module to the instrument panel assembly (RKE MODULE LOCATION).
Slide locking tab of the wiring connector sideways to unlock tab, and remove connector from RKE module.
Remove RKE module from vehicle.
NOTE: When replacing a faulty RKE Module, the replacement module must be configured with the DRB lll® scan tool for proper operation. Additionally, all transmitters must be reprogrammed to the
test only with a DRB  dealer scanner
