Dodge Repair: 1999 Ram 4x4 shift control module location, 42re, hydraulic systems

Question
I have a 1999 Ram 3/4 ton 4 wheel drive that is shifting real hard from first to second , will only shift from second to third if you let off the accelerator, and then it shifts violently. I heard it could be the shift control module so I bought a new one but I can't find out where it goes. Can you tell me?

there is no such thing as a shift control module  any and all functions related to the tranny are controlled by the TCM.
U would have a 42RE or a 46/47 RE and both are hydraulic systems not electric so u spent money on something that it does not have.
