Dodge Repair: Dodge Stratus over heating, temp gauge, dodge stratus

QUESTION: Hi, i have a dodge startus (99) and i live in Az. Lately when running the air condition the car is heating up. The heating gage needle goes to 3/4 of the way.
What are things which could be problems? I checked coolant. I was thinking thermostat? I dont where is the location of thermostat?
Any help will be appreciated.


ANSWER: does the car over heat or go to the 3/4 point in idle with ac off?

QUESTION: No,  it does not go high when air condition is not working. It seems to stay at the middle without the air condition.

then its where u live  AZ gets all kinda hot  U don't have anything wrong with your car.All it is u are seeing is the extra heat that is expelled from the AC onto the engine area and the temp gauge is higher because of the engine load from the Ac compressor its normal.  IF u get into the red then u have an issue.
