Dodge Repair: HUB ASSY - REAR WHEEL, vicksburg michigan, wheel bearing

Question
MY WIFES 98 VOYAGER HAS A REAR WHEEL BEARING GOING.  NOISE, RIGHT SIDE. WE CAN REPLACE IT, NO BIG DEAL. BUT, IN THE COMING SPRING I SUSPECT THE VAN WILL BE HISTORY. SO IF WE DRIVE IT AND TURN THE RADIO UP WHAT ARE THE ODDS ?  ANY CHANCE OF THAT THIS SETTING UP OR WILL IT JUST GET LOUDER. THE BEARING NOT THE RADIO. THE WORD 'SAFTEY' COMES TO MIND. THANK YOU VERY MUCH !  DAVID 'C' - VICKSBURG, MICHIGAN

Answer
If the word safety comes to mind.....you already know the answer.
1-Safety first; never put a higher value on a vehicle than those inside of the vehicle.
2-Although, replacing the wheel bearing will not add any value to the vehicle; it will sell or trade easier.
3-In my opinion, I would replace axle bearings on both sides AND thoroughly inspect the brakes for replacement also; a wheel bearing worn to this point will not run true, but be forced to run off center of the hub centerline thus wearing the brake shoe accordingly.
4-If all of this seems a little extreme, then add up the towing bill and all of the other issues that go along with sitting on the side of the road.
