Dodge Repair: thermostat?, harsh chemicals, dodge intrepid

i have corrosian and antifreeze coming out of the housing area of what i am thinking is my thermostat i have a 2001 dodge intrepid 2.7 there is a little hose attached at the top is this the thermostat housing? how do i know i need to change the thermostat and not something else

sounds like a micro leak.. the harsh chemicals have a bad habit of over time and heat causing leaks in this area.. just remove the bolts that mount the housing to the engine clean well and use rtv sealant "blue type" and put her back together again... yes replace the thermostat while it is taken apart!!
