Dodge Repair: smoking front brakes in 1997 Dodge Ram Van, dodge ram van, size vans

Question
I have a 1997 Dodge Ram van. I just replaced the front pads, roters and calipers. When I get in it in the morning, the brakes are perfect. 15 minutes later, the brake pedal gets harder and harder and all of a sudden the brakes are ON while I'm driving. If I gun it for a whole mile or two while they're stuck on they will start to release that's after I'm killing the engine. This goes on everday. What do I need to replace and please don't tell me this van, lol!

My father told me that it was ok to use transmission fluid in place of Brake fluid and would work for now. He said it's basically the same thing. Is that true?

Answer
First of all, use only certified brake fluid. Transmission fluid has grit in it that will wreck the master cylinder. I don't know much about the full size vans, but my guess would be you have sticking wheel cylinders or a bad master cylinder. Not 100% positive though on this one. Hope this helps
