hi steve, I have a 96 intrepid thats over heating
last week we replaced the thremistat, and replaced the hi low fuse that is under the hood. tonight it overheated again .came to conclution that the fan is not working again. we tried jumping the fuse under the hood again, this time it didnt work. where do i go from here?

Missy,

Have you tried to jump the fan motor and see if the fan works with 12 volts applied to it?  There is a relay that turns the fan on  but , you need to make sure the fan is able to work before you start looking at the other things.

Good luck and let me know what you find,

Steve

We wired the fan direct to the battery and yes it does work? so now what?

Answer
Sounds like the radiator fan relay or control module is bad,

You are getting in a little deep and may need some high end tools. If you still want to go ahead, you should look at the computer ground that grounds the relay. you should have 0 ohms on the wire comming from the computer to the relay.
and the main hot wire should have 12 volts all the time.
Good luck,

Steve
