Dodge Repair: 1998 Dodge Ram Van 1500 - cluster problem, dodge ram van, speeddometer

Question
The brake light and ABS light have been on for last 2 years.  Brakes work fine.  I need to get the van inspected ASAP. I'm not sure it will pass inspection W/ lights on.  Also the speeddometer doesn't work untill U reach 25MPH.

How can I get these lights off?  Outside of bringing it to the dealer..$$$$.

Thought about removing bulbs, not sure how involved that would be. Reset computer?

Both of Your problems may be related to one another.

It sounds like the speed sensor may be bad. it is located on the tail shaft of the trans. near where the drive shaft comes out the trans.

As far as passing inspection. here in VA the brake lights cant be on but ... if you remove the bulbs it cant fail...

Try replacing the checking the speed sensor this may be the problem with the speedo and the abs lights.
