Dodge Repair: dodge ram rear axle, dodge ram 1500, axle bearings

Question
I believe I have isolated a rubbing noise to my rear axle bearings, not sure if it is the axle or diff bearing, and I would like to identify which it is, any best practice you could share.  Also, would like to replace myself, where could I find a procedure?  thanks.

dodge ram, 1500, 91/4" chrysler axle.

This is a job left to someone who knows what he is doing. I worked at a dealership with over 25 tech and we had 1 man that was allowed to repair bearings and gears on rears.  because of all the problems that can come up if you make the smallest mistake.

If you still want to try then check out the chilton that is rear end only .  you need very detailed pictures and directions.
