Dodge Repair: Brake Lights, turn signal switch, dodge stratus

Question
1998 Dodge Stratus 2.4L
The problem is with my brake lights. They do not get brighter when I brake to let other vehicles know that I am braking ( This is with the head lights on).  Also, they do not even turn on when I am braking with the headlights off.  My headlights work, and all the lights in the back turn on.  They just illuminate brighter when I brake.  The only light that does go on to show that I am braking is the top light on my trunk./

Answer
This could be two blown bulbs, you know it not the brake switch since the third brake lamp works. also the fuse and turn signal switch are good.

If the bulbs are good the you need to check to see if you have 12 volts at the tail light conector. if so the the lamp is bad. if no curent there then you will need to trace back and find out where you loose the curent.  Could be a bad wire or ground.

Good luck,
Steve
