Dodge Repair: defrost setting, dodge ram 1500, conversion van

Question
I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 conversion van.   When using the A/C and then switching the control knob to defrost (when raining etc) the air in the rear turns hot when the temp control has not been moved.  It is warmed air, not outside air.  There is not a separtate control for the rear air just a fan control.  It has been in the shop a couple of times and they have replaced various knobs but it has not helped.  The dealer thinks this is how it is suppose to work!?!  Can this be correct?

Answer
This is not correct

the problem MAY and I say MAY be in the blend air door motor this is a door that shuts off the warm air when the A/c is turned on.
The van has a computer that takes care of the switching of the doors this could also be the problem

This may take a few trips back to the dealer but you should be able to get it fixed.

You may want to try another dealership. and if the van is still under warranty then there are a lot more things you can do to get it fixed ..

They are hoping you will just go away. Trust me I have been there.

Stick to your guns and get it fixed. you paid a lot for that van, and its needs to work right.

Keep me informed and let me know how things turn out .

But it not suppose to work that way.  Get them to try another van and see .

Good luck
