Dodge Repair: 2000 Grand Caravan, mopor, grand caravan

Pete, I just bought a used GC SE Sport with 37k. I was wondering, in your experiences with the GC's do these vans have any major problems? I have read that a lot had transmission problems but by buying it from the dealer I still get the 8/80 which at this point for me would be another 4 years or 43k. I declined the dealer extending the warranty to bumper to bumper because it was too much. I have already found a company that is cheaper: do you think that in the next 40-50k miles I will come across any major repairs where buying a warranty at $1700 for 4/100k will be worth it? The motors are great and the tranny are weak in all mopor they just dont make a good tranny onless it is a stick . sorry to tell you this but i have to be honest . when they get around hundred thousnand they seem to start troulble and a rebult with be 1500 installed and your warntery is 1700 so you know i would get it you might be glad you did if you need anymore help in the future let me know and good luck with the car pete
