Ford Repair: Ford fusion, interference engine, ford fusion

Question
I had a engine put in my 2007 ford fusion. My car wasn't starting up when I tried to crank up so I took it back to the mechanic and he told me it was out of timing and he didnt know how to do it, but that was after he was paid to replace the engine. I took it to a ford dealership and was told that it was outbid timing and had a misfire #4 which was caused by the person that installed the engine. They couldn't give me an exact estimate because of all the damages done. In this case I really don't know what to do??

Answer
small claims court. unfortunatley, the dealership is correct. this is what's known as an        " interference engine ". should it go out of time or set out of time. the piston will contact the valves. your only option is that is cost effective is a new engine. sorry. wish i could be more helpful. take care   -b-
