Ford Repair: ignition lock cylinder, lock cylinder, ford truck

1996 Ford Truck Windstar 3.8L SFI 6cyl
I need to know how to change ignition lock (cylinder)...does the steering wheel and airbag need to come off or can I just change it on the column?

it's actually pretty simple. if you insert the key or are able to turn it one click towards the run position. if you look just under where the cylinder is, you will see a small hole that goes through the cover around the column straight to the cylinder. insert a pick through this hole and pull the lock cylinder out. you can also go to you tube and type how to remove my lock cylinder on my 1996 windstar. there is a video for it
