MY 2007 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS AUTOMATIC CLIMATE CONTROL BLOWS AIR ONLY THREW DEFROST VENTS NO MATTER WHAT SETTINGS ARE USED, HOT OR COLD AND/OR IN RELATION TO TEMPERATURE SETTING. I DON'T KNOW HOW TO GET CODE FROM CONTROL PANEL.

you have either of 2 things going on, either there is a broken vacuum line going to the heater control head ( the actuators are controlled by vacuum ) or you have a bad heater control head. there is no other diagnosis.. when there is a vacuum loss, the heater always defaults to defrost. to retrieve your code without a computer. turn the key on, push and hold for three second the off and floor positions at the same time and then release within 2 seconds push the auto button. your heater control head will go into a self test mode for a minute or two and if the problem is with the unit, it will flash a code like 22,23,24 etc.. best guess though is a vacuum line came loose or cracked.. peace and good luck.. -b-
