Ford Repair: ford thunderbird front breaks, ford thunderbird, phillips head

Question
I started to replace my front disc pads today but I had trouble. The repair manual shows that I have to release the bottom bolt holding the caliper on, but it's not a bolt, it looks like it has a large large STAR shaped slot. How do I release the bolt.

Answer
Jeff-

It actually is a bolt, but you'll need a torx head bit to remove it.  Torx head bits are kind of like phillips head screwdrivers, they just have more points (and yeah...they do look like stars).  You can usually pick up a set of the most popular torx sizes at any auto parts store for under $10.  Hope this helps.
