Ford Repair: brake lights not working, light bulbs, motor v6

Question
Recently, i bought a ford ranger 98 xlt extended cab 4.0 motor V6 and was working good. My brake lights stopped working i don't know why. I already checked the fuses of everything and are working perfectly and also checked the light bulbs of the brake lights and they are not damaged, any more suggestions for the cause of this problem? It would of my very appreciation that you can reply as soon as possible
Thank you for everything.
Emmanuel

Answer
Emmanuel, I am assuming that the brakes are functioning properly, just the lights does not work. With that assumption, I would guess that that the brake switch is malfunctioning.  There is a switch that trigger the brake lights to go on once you press on the brake pedal.  I am not where the switch is located, however I would recommend that you use Autozone.com and use the repair section in the website for replacement and part assistance.  Thanks!
