Ford Repair: synthetic oil change, synthetic oil change, oil leaks

Question
I have a ford focus 2.0 liter. DO I need to spend the extra money to have synthetic oil when having my oil changed? Thanks for your help Vern.

Answer
Vern, I don't think it is needed to spend the money to change.  With the all the options out there for 7k oils, it is not an investment worth while.  In addition, there is a phenomena, that if you change from natural to synthetic, you will experience oil leaks for no apparent reason.  I have this experience with 1991 Tempo.  No one can tell why that is, but it does happens.  So, if you think you still want to go synthetic, research this issue before you commit.  As once it happens, it does not seem to go away by switching back to natural oil.  Thanks!
