Ford Repair: thumping in ford expedition, brake rotor, exhust

Question
i have recently started hearing a thumping noise on the rear passenger side of my 2001 for expedition. it mostly happens when i first start the engine and when i am braking at a stop light and have my foot off the gas. it has been suggested that i have kinked my exhust by backing into a snow bank. do you have any ideas?

Answer
CL, it is a bit hard to diagnose the problem from your description....  However, the thumping noise could simply be a tire issue, where is something is stuck to the inside of it.  Other, more severe issue, is a worpped brake rotor.  Also, it could be a bend/lose exhuast pipe.  I would suggest that you check under the car for those simple items, then check the more serve issue....
