Ford Repair: 1984 Ford F600 Charging issue, ford f600, engine transplant

Question
I have a 1984 Ford F600 that we recently recieved an engine transplant. The NEW Motor is 360 from a 1994 truck. We swithched the new motor from fuel injection to Naturally asperated. Since the change over we are not able to keep a charge on the battery. We have gone through at least three batteries in the past two months. We also had the alternator tested and replaced as well. When we put a volt meter on the battery with the truck running we are reading 12.11 volts, the same as with the truck off. PLEASE HELP

Answer
Hello Joe, the engine it's self will have no effect on the electricial system, a regulator in the alternator could be sticking ang not turning off or there is a open in a wire or wires touching allowing power where it shouldn't. That is where I would start diagnosing 1st. Thanks Tony
