Ford Repair: dying out, fuel line, fuel filter

after i start the car up, shift it into gear it dies out.

Lanette, what make, model, and year.  However, this issue can be caused by many problems....  You might need a tune-up, need to clean fuel line, air filter, fuel filter, and worst case a bad fuel pump.  Follow-up on the simple things first, do the regular maintenance items first, and then lets see if you need major repairs....
