Ford Repair: brakes, metal tubes, aluminum metal

Question
Hi,

i have a 98 ford escort gle. i recently had my engine redone
and all was in working order until a week ago where my right
front caliper started sticking. i thought it could be air in
my system but when i came to bleed my right side i found
that there was no fluid coming out the bleeding nipple. i
then took the hose of the master cylinder and there was
still no fluid comming out. i then took my master cylinder
apart and cleaned the seals and rubbers and put it back
together again.  there is now a suction when i release my
pedal and a push of air when i depress it. but when i place
the hoses back onto the master cylinder there is no fluid
that comes out only a breathing sound. i have battled for
days!now i have absolutely no breaks and am carless! i have
also come across a pipe that is releasing what smells like
exhaust fumes into my engine bay and i cannot find where it
needs to go. HELP!!

Answer
From your earlier comments, and your braking system diagnostics, I believe that the hose from the master cylinder to the caliper is a need of a change.  It might have been dinged during the engine installation.  These lines are aluminum metal tubes that can easily be damaged.  As for your last comments, I could not help your there...
