Ford Repair: Changing Tranny Fluid/Filter, jeep cherokee sport, jeep cherokee

Hi Mark,

Couldn't find any experts in the Jeep, Eagle, or other 4WD categories.
I own a 93' Jeep Cherokee Sport, 4WD, 4.0 6 cylinder. I bought it in 2005, am 2nd owner, and am wondering what brand tranny filter, fluid, or additive you might recommend. Not really sure if tranny fluid has ever been changed or not. The tranny's not making any noise or anything and seems to work o.k. The engine has 240,000 mi. on it & I bought it 30,000 mi. ago.
I have heard of a complete transmission flush or maybe a "front end" flush. Is the additional cost for this really worth it?

mine so you can call me and i'll tell you how to do a simple flush on it and what fluid to use but i'll have to look it up. i believe it is atf+4 fluid but not sure.
