Ford Repair: sun roof adjustment, ford, escape

have a 2002 Mazda Tribute, same as  ford Escape,and the sun roof need adjustment. The left side goes forward farther then the right side. it will not open more than an inch or so.

Sunroof frame Brian,

To the best of my knowledge about the sunroof unit it is not adjustable to this degree. Most sunroof manufacturers today are building a dedicated worm gear system in an encapsulated unit. Years ago the sunroof cables use to be replaceable and hence you could do a side to side adjustment but, that is no longer the case.
What may have happened is the worm drive may be worn on one side of the cable and it caused the sunroof frame to be knocked out of time with each side. You would need to replace the sunroof frame in order to solve a misalignment issue like this.
