Ford Repair: truck wont shift out of park, stop lamp, shift out

i cant get  my 2004 ford f150 to shift out of park without using the emergency override

check the stop lights, make sure they work because if not, the lockout is not getting the stop lamp signal. If the stop lights DO work, then you will need to get codes checked, there may be a fault in the lockout itself. Most common is a problem with the stop lights.
