Ford Repair: lights on / key in ignition chime location, ford explorer eddie bauer, explorer eddie bauer

Do you know where the chime is located that rings when the keys are left in the ignition or lights are left on?  I can barely hear the chime in my 1991 Ford Explorer (Eddie Bauer 2 door).  I'd like to replace the chime but I cannot locate it because the sound is so soft.  It must be worn out.  Thanks

The chime is usually under the left side of instrument panel, near the steering column. You may have to stick your head under there while the chime is sounding to pinpoint it. And check if you can get a new chime first, 1991 is kinda old for finding that kind of part.
