Ford Repair: Ford brake calipers hanging up, brake calipers, fuel mileage

Recently my f 250 seems to be lacking much of its power, and the fuel mileage has fallen off drastically. i took it to my dealer to get checked out and they told me the only thing they found was that the brake calipers were hanging up. they also changed the fuel and air filters. is this possibly what is wrong, because to me its sounds rediculous.

Hello Brian, It is possible for this to be a possibly, if the brakes are dragging enough it is basiclly holding the vehicle back and will require more effort from the engine to make you go. Which in turn will cause more usage in fuel because it is working harder. Not knowing what engine size,transmission,gear ratio you have makes a difference in fuel econo. Thanks Tony
