Ford Repair: oil temp signal error, explorer eddie bauer, mouth works

Question
I have a 2000 Explorer Eddie Bauer when I do a system check on the message center I get a ( OIL TEMP SIGNAL ERROR ). How can I correct this error.

I can't tell if that is the SOHC, OHV, or 5.0 engine. I do know that the oil temperature sensor is not available at most aftermarket parts stores and it will be a dealer only item. In my opinion, find a trustworthy mechanic, word of mouth works best, and have them replace it. Most of your local parts stores have major commercial accounts with local garages, find out which one they personally use if you have no luck with word of mouth.
