RV Repair: Awning, travel locks, happy camping

Question
I have a Dometic awning on a trailer, and I'm having trouble putting it up. Could you explain the step by step sequence.

Answer
Ken,
When the awning is all the way out and set up here is what you will need to do to store it away.  First you will need to lower each arm to the stop bolt.  You do this with the handle on the side of each arm.  Once that is done you will need to loosen the knob on each upper rafter and slide it all the way back towards the trailer.  Take your strap and awning wand and walk towards the front spring assembly and flip the lever to the roll up position while holding pressure on the strap to keep the awning from rolling up.  Walk back to about the center of the awning and slowly allow it to roll up, putting the wand in the strap when you start to run out of room to be able to hold onto it.  Secure the travel locks that hold the awning in place for transit and snug up the knobs on the upper rafters so they don't vibrate off in transit.  I hope this helps, good luck and happy camping.
